Milton Margai Old Students Association—North America
(MIMOSA—North America)
MISSION STATEMENT
The Milton Margai Old Students Association of North America (MIMOSA—North America), was formed by alumni and alumnae of the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (MMCET), primarily to help the college achieve continued excellence in teaching, research, and public service. After a devastating ten-year war, Sierra Leone faces the enormous task of reconstruction to respond effectively to the development needs of the country.

The cash-trapped economy of this broken state undermines the capacity of its state-supported institutions to meet the needs imposed upon them especially by the new system of education. The Milton Margai College of Education and Technology can not perform her role effectively without external help. Against this background, MIMOSA seeks to harness the collective strength of the loyal sons and daughters of the college so as to provide the support the college so desperately needs. Besides acquainting them fully with the progress and needs of their Alma Mater, alumni and alumnae of the college will be encouraged to participate in fund-raising and other kinds of activities geared towards supporting the programs of our alma mater in fulfilling her noble duty to the nation. The Association will serve as a resource and networking hub to create and foster linkages between MMCET and North American educational institutions in the areas of teaching, educational research, and training.
